Diane Lee
Diane Lee brings a rich background in fine arts and design into her metalsmithing practice, creating a welcoming space where artists can explore, experiment, and grow.
My Story
Diane Lee is originally from Haughton, Louisiana, Diane earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Louisiana Tech University. Her creative background spans graphic design, advertising, and fine arts. Her career history includes work with the Yellow Pages and the U.S. Air Force’s 347th Services Squadron and her own company, LuvLee Designs, where she creates and sells handcrafted jewelry and art.
Inspired by a visit to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, Diane began creating beaded jewelry. As her creative vision grew, she found herself searching for distinctive, artful silver findings that simply weren’t available. This led her to learn how to fabricate her own. Diane studied metalsmithing at Pima Community College and later refined her skills under the mentorship of Doris King.
Through this journey, she recognized a need for an accessible, welcoming space where artists could explore their craft without limitations. At 3rd Bench Studio, Diane dedicates her time to hosting Open Studio Hours, providing artists with a supportive environment to practice, experiment, and grow—without distractions and with access to professional tools that may otherwise be out of reach.
3rd Bench Studio connects artists, offers instruction from notable creators, and fosters the growth of a strong, inclusive arts community.
