My Story

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with making things. That creative curiosity has continued to grow throughout my career as an RN, a life coach, and a loss and transition counselor.

I never stopped learning and exploring art---first drawing, painting, and weaving. In the 1980’s I traded my paintbrush and fiber for a forging hammer and jeweler's saw and began my creative journey with precious metals and gemstone, intensively studying my art until this day.

I have learned through the guidance of several talented teachers, particularly Bill Derrevere, my first metalsmith instructor, who taught me how to draw from my life’s experiences and preferences to shape my artistic style; Tim McCreight, who taught me to trust my creative voice; Robert Dancik who taught me the power of play in learning and discovery. Also, my coach training taught me that growth flourishes in a trusting community free of judgment, comparison and criticism.

Informed by these teachings, my own teaching style emphasizes guiding individual expression, trusting the creative voice, and encouraging creative play and lightheartedness in an environment free of judgment, criticism, and competition.

I’ve been honored to have my jewelry represented in numerous galleries nationwide, to have authored and published work, served as a juror for statewide art exhibitions, and taught jewelry and design for over 35 years. I continue to learn and share in the studio and beyond with many talented friends.

I am currently represented by  K. Newby Gallery in Tubac, AZ, John Rippel Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, and Wilde Meyer Gallery in Tucson, AZ.

I’m very excited about my newest venture – opening  3rd Bench Studio in Tucson, AZ. with two artist friends.
