TEAL [Teen Emerging Artist Lab]: Stacking Rings

TEAL: TEEN EMERGING ARTISTS LAB

Wednesdays 6-9 pm beginning August 12, 2026

This week we will focus on Stacking Rings! Make one or more narrow rings in copper or silver.

FIRE--HAMMERS--TOOLS! Take a mid-week break and join friends as you design and create jewelry and objects. No experience necessary. Participants from Teen Residency--- strengthen familiar skills and gain new techniques. New to Metalsmithing?--No problem! Join us as we explore how metals can be manipulated to create.

Up to 6 teens meet weekly to learn and practice metalsmithing skills. Professional tools are used as teens learn the basic skills of sawing, filing, hammering, soldering, and finishing metal work.

Each week, a project is demonstrated and specific related skills are reviewed. Students are encouraged to work on the project, though may choose to continue work on a personal project.

Please arrive about 15 minutes early for your first session in order for parent to sign waiver and to tour the studio.

In the interest of safety: Wear closed toed shoes and non-synthetic clothing, tie your hair back securely, and don't wear loose, dangly clothing or jewelry.

Single Session Artists: Expect to take home a completed piece.

We use Copper and Brass. If you would like to use Sterling Silver, it may be purchased.

Cost: $45 / Session [Add material fees payable during class for silver, gemstones, or special tools]

$150 / 4-week session
